She is currently based in Toronto, Ontario, but frequents a studio space in Mexico City to escape the Canadian winters.
Tania recently launched a mentorship program for aspiring artists who need guidance on developing their unique voice and overcoming their creative blocks as a way for her to continue to fulfill her life’s purpose to make meaningful connections with others through art and expression.
Tania returned to Canada and settled in Hamilton in 2016, where she lived and worked from her studio space until 2025. She recently was in Mexico City on a six-month-long self-directed residency, developing her latest collection, An Ode to Joy, from her studio in Casa Ennea. Tania’s work is held in private collections throughout Canada, the USA and the Caribbean; she is currently represented by the Art Gallery of Hamilton, HelloArt and Saatchi Art.
Creative Work at Sa Buttega, Villasalto
During her residency at Sa Buttega, Tania will research what the concept of “home” means to her as well as interviewing that this concept means to other people, including the local community. Part of her investigation includes understanding what most Italians attribute to the idea of “what makes a home”.
During her stay, Sa Buttega will facilitate one or more open discussion(s)/workshop(s) with the local community members and children around the topic of “home” and “belonging”. She intends to collect stories from newcomers and born-there folks, as she values everyone’s opinion and perspective on the matter!
The result will be translated into poetry and small paintings/drawings works on paper around the theme of “belonging”, allowing herself to be inspired by the raw beauty of the outdoors together with the exploration of “home” and “belonging”.
